Scott Abner

Scott Abner brings a lifelong passion for golf, competitive playing experience, and years of professional instruction to Marble Hill Country Club.

Scott began playing golf at age 15 and quickly developed a deep appreciation for the game. His talent led him to compete at Jacksonville State University, followed by appearances in several mini-tour events before beginning his professional career.

In 1998, Scott joined the golf professional staff at Big Canoe, where his responsibilities included golf instruction, club fitting, club repair, and member relations. During that time, he developed not only a strong connection with the game, but also a lasting appreciation for the Big Canoe community.

After the birth of his second child, Scott made the decision to step away from the golf industry to spend more time with his family and began a successful career in electrical sales. Golf, however, has remained an important part of his life. His career has given him the opportunity to play with customers and experience numerous golf courses throughout the Southeast.

Scott and his family returned to Big Canoe as residents approximately seven years ago. His wife, Valerie, works at the Big Canoe Chapel, while their children, Ellie and Jansen, have both been involved in the Big Canoe community through the Swim Club and golf operations.

An active member of the Big Canoe MGA, Scott is also a five-time Big Canoe Club Champion.

As an instructor at Marble Hill Country Club, Scott combines his competitive experience, professional golf background, and understanding of the golf swing with a practical, approachable teaching style. His goal is to help golfers of all skill levels better understand their game, build confidence, improve consistency, and ultimately enjoy golf more.

Joan Delk

Joan Delk is a distinguished golfer with an impressive career spanning competitive play, broadcasting, and coaching. A Florida Junior and Women’s Amateur Champion, she continued her golf journey at Furman University before competing as an LPGA Touring Professional for 15 years.

Beyond her playing career, Joan brought her expertise to the broadcast booth as a golf analyst for LPGA and NCAA Championships on ESPN and Prime Network. She has also made a significant impact as a teaching professional in Atlanta, Georgia, at Big Canoe Golf Club and Crystal Falls Golf Club. An LPGA Class A Professional, Joan remains active in the sport as a Legends Golf Tour Professional, showcasing her enduring passion for the game.
